{"id":10693,"date":"2018-06-05T12:00:42","date_gmt":"2018-06-05T06:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/?p=10693"},"modified":"2018-06-05T12:00:42","modified_gmt":"2018-06-05T06:30:42","slug":"delhi-airport-goes-green-combat-pollution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/index.php\/2018\/06\/05\/delhi-airport-goes-green-combat-pollution\/","title":{"rendered":"Delhi Airport Goes Green To Combat Pollution!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Delhi has had a reputation of being one of the most polluted cities in India, however, the Delhi Airport is combating this situation and is making things easier for passengers at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of opting for expensive air purifiers, Delhi Airport has put 35000 air purifying plants which can naturally clean the air form basic pollutants.<\/p>\n<p>Here are all the details of this \u2018Green\u2019 initiative\u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nearly 3.9 million square feet of area within the Delhi Airport has been covered by air purifying plants and shrubs.<\/li>\n<li>To purify the air naturally, a mix of different foliage and flowering trees has been used.<\/li>\n<li>Plants such as Cassia Fistula, Asltonia Scholaris, Spider Plants, Snake Plants, Golden Pothos, Weeping fig, Jacaranda Mimosifolia and Bamboo Palm have been planted.<\/li>\n<li>Each plant type serves a specific purpose, for example, Spider Plants purify the air of Carbon Monoxide and Benzene, while Weeping Fig filters out pollutants from carpets and furniture.<\/li>\n<li>The airport plans to add thousands of plants every year and want to keep this green initiative going.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10695\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/1-15.jpeg?resize=820%2C470\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/1-15.jpeg?w=820&amp;ssl=1 820w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/1-15.jpeg?resize=300%2C172&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/1-15.jpeg?resize=768%2C440&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 820px) 100vw, 820px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Delhi International Airport Limited(DIAL) said that they have been working towards reducing adverse pollution impacts by taking such initiatives. They have also said that various authorities will be monitoring the air quality within the airport.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Delhi Airport is the 7<sup>Th<\/sup> busiest airport in Asia and the 20<sup>Th<\/sup> busiest airport in the world. This Green initiative will surely make things easier for international and domestic passengers travelling to the national capital and will help them breath clean &amp; fresh air within the airport after a long flight.<\/p>\n<p>Experts say that using such plants will have a lot of benefits in the long run. It will moderate the temperature, reduce pollution and prevent wastage of water within the airport.
