{"id":10784,"date":"2018-06-16T11:19:10","date_gmt":"2018-06-16T05:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/?p=10784"},"modified":"2018-06-16T11:19:10","modified_gmt":"2018-06-16T05:49:10","slug":"jet-airways-revise-baggage-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/index.php\/2018\/06\/16\/jet-airways-revise-baggage-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Jet Airways To Revise Baggage Rules From July 2018!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>India\u2019s second largest airline, Jet Airways, announced on Friday that they will be revising their baggage rules from 15<sup>th<\/sup> July 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The airline has said that they will be changing their baggage policy from the \u2018Weight\u2019 concept to \u2018Piece\u2019 concept for check-in luggage on all their domestic flights.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the details of the revised baggage policy-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For economy class passengers, the airline will allow only one free check-in bag which does not exceed 15kg.<\/li>\n<li>Business or \u2018Premiere\u2019 class passengers can carry 2 check-in bags for free which do not exceed 30 kgs (15kg per bag)<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Jet Platinum\u2019 members who are travelling in the economy class can carry 2 bags, with a maximum weight of 15kg per bag.<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Jet Platinum\u2019 members travelling in the \u2018Premiere\u2019 class have been allowed two bags not exceeding 25kg per bag.<\/li>\n<li>The new rules won\u2019t apply to those who have bought their tickets before 15<sup>th<\/sup> June 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently, passengers flying on domestic routes have a restriction on the weight of the luggage and not on the number of bags they can carry. Jet Airways will be the first airline in India to implement this system.<\/p>\n<p>The concept of free baggage allowance based on the number of bags is a popular concept in countries like the United States and most international airlines follow this. In fact, many airlines in India follow this rule when they fly internationally.<\/p>\n<p>This move will benefit the airline because, with lesser bags to load, the flight will be able to take-off quickly.
