{"id":10935,"date":"2018-07-07T11:11:08","date_gmt":"2018-07-07T05:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/?p=10935"},"modified":"2018-07-07T11:11:08","modified_gmt":"2018-07-07T05:41:08","slug":"bangalore-airport-will-soon-introduce-self-check-kiosks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/index.php\/2018\/07\/07\/bangalore-airport-will-soon-introduce-self-check-kiosks\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangalore Airport Will Soon Introduce \u201cSelf Check-In\u201d Kiosks!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Passengers travelling from the Bangalore Airport, will soon be able to get their boarding pass without much hassle!<\/p>\n<p>The Kempegowda International Airport(KIA) in Bangalore is planning to introduce 16 \u2018Self Check-In\u2019 kiosks near the airline ticket counters.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Mr Rajesh Ranjan, has said that there is a lot of emphasis on introducing e-governance and e-handling at the Bangalore Airport due to the city\u2019s reputation as a technology hub. For this purpose and to reduce check-in time, the airport might install self check-in kiosks.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from these 16 kiosks, airport authorities will also introduce 2 assisted kiosks through which passengers can check in and get a boarding pass without going to the counters. The baggage can then be sent to the airlines from these kiosks itself.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, there are a few such kiosks at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ranjan has also said that, following Hyderabad Airport\u2019s example, CISF personnel are planning to do away with stamping of the boarding pass at Bangalore Airport.<\/p>\n<p>They are planning to implement a check-in system where the passengers can swipe the boarding pass at the scanner, which will recognise the barcode and allow them in. However, the details of this system are yet to be finalized.<\/p>\n<p>This decision taken by the Bangalore Airport will surely be a step further in implementing the government\u2019s \u201cDigiYatra\u201d scheme, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/index.php\/2018\/07\/04\/paperless-travel-india-aadhaar-hurdle\/\">which lately took a hit<\/a> after the Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) refused to share Aadhaar data with aviation authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Passengers travelling from the Bangalore Airport, will soon be able to get their boarding pass without much hassle!
