{"id":12186,"date":"2018-12-27T11:27:26","date_gmt":"2018-12-27T05:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/?p=12186"},"modified":"2018-12-27T11:27:35","modified_gmt":"2018-12-27T05:57:35","slug":"new-traffic-pattern-at-chennai-airport-from-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.airwhizz.com\/index.php\/2018\/12\/27\/new-traffic-pattern-at-chennai-airport-from-today\/","title":{"rendered":"New Traffic Pattern At Chennai Airport From Today!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a bid to reduce time taken to enter and exit Chennai Airport\nand ease the congestion in front of the international and domestic terminals of\nthe airport, the pick-up and drop points at both terminals will be changed from\ntoday.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will put in place a\nrevised traffic pattern which will be in effect from 11 am, today.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What this means is that AAI will provide separate access to\ndeparture and arrival levels in both domestic and international terminals.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The airport, which now has only one entry and exit at present,\n&nbsp;will have three entry points.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vehicles in the departure level will have to drop\npassengers and exit the airport, and will not have access to parking facility\nboth in domestic and international terminals.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, for those picking up passengers from the airport, there\nis a separate pick-up lane earmarked for private vehicles and cab aggregator\nOla.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commercial vehicles will not have access to the pick-up\nlane; they have been slotted the parking lanes at the airport. Passengers will\nhave to walk down to the parking lane to get access to the commercial vehicles.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is a detailed summary of the changes:<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"820\" height=\"470\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/12.jpeg?resize=820%2C470&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/12.jpeg?w=820&amp;ssl=1 820w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/12.jpeg?resize=300%2C172&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.airwhizz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/12.jpeg?resize=768%2C440&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 820px) 100vw, 820px\" \/><\/figure><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vehicles coming to drop passengers at the\ndomestic terminal, as of now, take a right turn to the ramp. However, Such\nvehicles will now take a left turn and drive up a ramp near the airport metro\nstation turn right and reach the departure terminal. <\/li><li>Cars that come to drop passengers at the international\nterminal will enter through a new gate, take a left turn, drive up the farther\narm of the flyover &amp; take a right turn to reach the departure terminal\nbefore driving down a ramp near the metro station.<\/li><li>Vehicles reaching arrival terminals on the on\nthe ground floor will follow the same circular pattern as before.<\/li><li>Three points have been opened on GST Road for\nvehicles coming out of the airport to take \u2018U\u2019 turns to go towards Pallavaram. <\/li><\/ul><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vehicle parking charges will remain the same. However,\nthe charges will be revised shortly after the new traffic flow is established\nsatisfactorily.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new traffic plan was to be introduced in May this year,\nbut it was delayed because the parking contractor who was also in-charge of\ncollecting entry fee for vehicles defaulted and had to be terminated.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a bid to reduce time taken to enter and exit Chennai Airport and ease the congestion in front of the international and domestic terminals of the airport, the pick-up and drop points at both terminals will be changed from today.
