1.Dubious Traffic\u00a0Conditions\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The difference between travel time to the airport at maximum and minimum traffic is a whopping 145%. The distance between the city center and airport is 18km. Travel time at usual traffic is 31 minutes and at peak traffic is 76 minutes. We wonder if all the hours saved by flying is lost en route to the airport.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Ineffective Public Transport<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A senior professor of transport and planning at SPA, Dr. Sewa Ram has noted that apart from investing in airport infrastructure, investment must go into the ground access transport system. The average speeds drop drastically towards the last 5km radius to the airport.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In international cities such as London, New York, and Tokyo, the average speed is maintained at 40kmph, and in the final five kilometers to the airport, the speed is higher than\u00a030kmph. In the Delhi airport, it reduces\u00a0from 21kmph to 16kmph during the final stretch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
